Habiba will develop a comprehensive strategic blueprint focused on addressing the diverse needs of Harvard students through various activities, programs, and support systems. She will provide guidance to student cultural and affinity organizations. Habiba's primary objective will be to formulate a strategic plan centered on activities, programs, and support systems tailored to meet the diverse needs and interests of Harvard College's student body.

She joins us from Brandeis University where she was the Director of the Intercultural Center. In that role, Habiba worked closely with students. academic departments, community partners, alumni and other stakeholders to build and strengthen the university-wide culture of diversity, equity and inclusion by creating spaces to engage, support, empower, and celebrate individuals from marginalized and underrepresented communities. She is an experienced scholar-practitioner with 10 years of experience in the field of higher education who is currently pursuing her doctorate degree in Social Policy with a focus on economic and racial equity. Habiba's dissertation research explores the underrepresentation of Black women in tenure-track faculty positions by examining recruitment and hiring practices at colleges and universities.
